Alan played his high school basketball career at Dakota Collegiate and years after graduation he went back to be the assistant coach for two years under Dakota basketball legend Dean Favoni. Alan earned his level one National Coaching Certification and has coached at programs such as She Can Play, Winnipeg Minor Basketball League, Junior Wesmen, and is currently the assistant coach for the J.H. Bruns Collegiate Varsity basketball program.
